A little explanation...

So...a lot of people have been wondering about the "Cath" part in the blog...it's just a fun nickname from the DeMann side of my family! :)

Last year, we were in St. George for Kylie Jam 2010 and while we were shopping at the outlets, Darla and I decided to get some yummy, refreshing drinks from Starbucks. When ordering a drink at Starbucks, they ask for a name to call when it is ready, naturally we gave them the names "Calee and Darla". Well, when our drinks were ready to pick up, the lady at the counter calls out "Cathy and Carla"! For some reason, we thought this was HILARIOUS!! We all laughed about it the rest of the trip! The nickname Cath has just stuck with my sisters from that side and Momma Pam! It always catches me by surprise when Papa Bryan calls me Cath, but I love it!!

So there is a little explanation as to why my blog says Cath! Also, if you didn't know... Devy = Devin! :)

Day 4: Getting to know Midvale...Police!

As of right now, we live in Midvale, UT. We love our apartment and have finally made it ours! Devin has done such a good job at decorating it and I LOVE EVERYTHING HE HAS DONE!! (I can't find my camera cord, or I would post pictures of everything!) Well Midvale is sketchy at times! We see police officers all the time, whether they have pulled someone over into our complex or if they are arresting someone in the Savers parking lot! Devin grew up in Murray and I grew up in Sandy, so we are close to family! Something we really enjoy!

Also....a side note from last post...apparently that was NOT Dispatch! That was Chad Urmston's other band, State Radio...

This is Dispatch!

Day 3: We look forward to....

Tuesday's(sometimes), Thursday's(sometimes), Friday's @ 10 pm(could be anywhere from 8-10), Saturday mornings and some Sunday's! Those are some of the ONLY times we get to see each other! Since Devin works at a restaurant, he works mostly nights (don't know why he seems to be the ONLY one, but I won't bore you with that) and I work 8-5, so our schedules are pretty much opposite! But it does work out for the dogs; one of us is usually at home with them! Which they LOVE!! Obviously, this is short term...it is a week by week thing we look forward to.

Medium term for Devy is...DISPATCH and Dude Jam!! He is really excited and talks about it almost nonstop! I'm really glad he gets this opportunity to see his favorite band with all of his buddies! They are making a weekend camping trip out of it! The concert is at the Red Rocks amphitheater in Morrison, CO.
FYI: I WANTED TO GO, SEEING AS HOW MY SISTER, BROTHER IN LAW AND SUPER CUTE NIECE LIVE THERE, BUT I am a girl AND I'M NOT ALLOWED!! REAL STUPID!! :)

My medium term wish is...seeing WICKED in BOISE IDAHO for Kylie Jam 2011 in May! I am really excited, I've heard GREAT things about it!! And can't wait!! It's fun to spend quality time with my sister in laws and my Momma Pam!

OUR long term wish is...A HOME!!  We are saving up for that mortgage that comes with the luxary of home ownership! And it looks promising for sometime next Spring!! I know the pups would LOVE a backyard and I can't wait for space to decorate! I like to look at all the homes that are on the market right now, but Dev says to wait a little while before I get TOO excited!!

Day 2: What's in a name?

Why did I name our blog "Our life as DeMann"? Well, cause that's what it is about! Our life....as DeMann! It's also a slight play on words...ya know....De-Mann! :) I know, I know...VERY clever! But I like it! And so does everyone else who has used that joke when finding out our last name!!

Also, I picked the web address because we are a BYU and a Utah fan! So it fits us very well!

Valentine's Day

I obviously have been slacking....whoops a daisy! Just wanted to tell you all what a great man my husband is!

I wasn't even planning on being able to see Devin on Valentine's Day, let alone spend the whole night with him! But somewhere the restaurant gods must have been smiling down on us(must be all his hard work) and he was given the WHOLE day off!! (Let's not talk about the rest of the week...) So while I was at work, he was able to put together the most wonderful night! I started to figure out he had something up his sleeve when I talked to him during my lunch and he wouldn't tell me what kind of errands he was running. So as I'm driving home, wondering what that man has thought up, he texts me and asks for me to wait outside, cause he wasn't finished yet! So I sat outside, in my car, for maybe 15 minutes. After awhile, the urge to go to the bathroom is slowly creeping up on me and I can't hold it anymore; so I tell him he has to let me in and I'm finally able to go inside my home. I open the door, and I'm greeted by my pups, and the smell of something wonderful! Not only had he cleaned the apartment spotless(a specialty of his) BUT he had candles lit everywhere, dinner cooking in the crock pot and had a new arrangement of flowers on the table! I was rendered speechless! I couldn't believe I found someone who would do all that just for Valentine's Day(and celebrating the night off together) Once I said hello to the dogs, so they would calm down a bit, I found my cute, sweaty husband(he had a day of hard work getting all of that done before I got home from work) and gave him the biggest hug I could handle!! (Remember, he was sweaty!) Dinner wasn't quite ready to eat just then, so we relaxed on the couch, watching TV. This is when he brought out yet another surprise! Whether this was his secret errand of the day, or he had it waiting just for this, Devy had surprised me the most beautiful garnet necklace with matching ear rings! I cried, like a baby, when I opened the box. Get over it, I cry! :) FYI...the box is now RUINED cause dog-who-will-not-be-named cough cough Baxter cough cough got a hold of it! I may love that dog, but I could seriously strangle him sometimes....Dinner was AMAZING!! No surprise there, I married one heck of a cook! We had crock pot potatoes and pork chops!! It was so yummy! I was in heaven at this point! We even ate at our candle-light adorned dining room table!! But wait...the night is not over! After dinner, he had prepared a bubble bath with Josh Groban singing away the stresses of life! It was bliss! After we got in our pj's, we turned on our new movie..."The Other Guys" with Will Ferrell and Marky Mark Wahlberg. I'm pretty sure I almost died laughing! I really enjoyed it! Then it was off to bed, because the next day I had to return to reality. But thanks to my wonderful husband, I had my best Valentine's Day yet!! I love you baby babe!!

Do not judge...I did NOT know we were having such an extravagant V Day, so I did NOT get him anything! I've already felt horrible about it, but justified myself by saying I surprised him with TV trays a few weeks ago, so that counts as my gift! And that is a thoughtful gift, cause he REALLY wanted TV trays, since we don't use our new dining room table to eat!
